Santa Barbara Golf Courses

Santa Barbara is known for its beaches, but Santa's Barbara's golf courses are the American Riviera's lesser-known green gems. In Santa Barbara, there are 6 public 18-hole courses and a few 9-hole courses, most which are located only 20 minutes by car from downtown Santa Barbara.

Rancho San Marcos Golf Club

This Robert Trent Jones Jr. design was built on the site of the Rancho San Marcos, which dates back to 1804. Preserved remnants of the historic settlement are still present among the course grounds. The course itself is a four-star track, ranking nationally in the top 50 for playing conditions— a must play course in the Santa Barbara area. Green fees are in the $80-$140 range.

This magnificent Santa Barbara course has played host to numerous PGA and LPGA Tour events. A William F. Bell design, the course is built along the Pacific Ocean, and the views are world-class. This Santa Barbara golf course itself comes in just over 7,000 yards, and features a semi-links style layout with massive bunkers and greens. This is the premier golf destination on the central/southern California coast. Green fees are around $120.

This is the Santa Barbara city-owned municipal course. It's one of the busiest on the west coast, hosting over 100,000 rounds a year. Despite the heavy play, the course is in great shape. The course is short, just over 6,000 yards, but challenging and fun as well. Green fees are in the $12-$35 range.
